Extinguish the Habit . . . Live Smoke Free

The OC Firefighters Local 3631 strives to ensure long-term firefighter health and wellness. Why? Because your physical wellbeing are crucial to high performance on the job. We also recognize that your specialized skills and knowledge provide an essential community-wide service. What you do saves lives. However, the sheer nature of the physical demands required of you dramatically raises your own personal health risk.

That’s why Local 3631 makes your personal health a priority.

Largest glass of Guinness poured in honor of Fallen Firefighters

When a pub worker scrapped a mountain of golden foam from an enormous glass-head, a moment of drama gripped the patio. The foam grew and grew, and so did the questions.             Would the frothy head bubble up and out of control? Would the concept of the perfect pour hold water (or in this case beer) in an 8ft tall acrylic glass?

Aaron Delago thanks firefighters by giving back

Approximately two years ago Aaron Delago’s father had his second heart attack. Orange County Firefighters from station 58 in Ladera Ranch responded to the call and within minutes they immediately knew what was wrong. Treatment was started and his father was on his way to a recovery.

“If it was not for their expertise and training I don’t think my dad would have been here today” Delgado said.

Mission Viejo City Council Award
Just after 11 p.m. on May 29 on the Santa Ana freeway just past La Paz, an SUV spun out and lost control, rolled into the path of an oncoming bus, flipped once or twice, and exploded into a ball of flame, the Orange County Register said. Water-rescue-trainer Shawn Alladio was on her way home from a full day of teaching water rescue techniques to Marines at Camp Pendleton when she saw the crash happen right before her eyes. Alladio immediately pulled over and ran towards the flaming wreck. When she got there, she saw an unconscious man, with his arms ablaze, inside the vehicle.

Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) hosted a fundraiser on October 13, benefiting Katherine Litchfield, who was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Carcinoid cancer in October 2007. “It is support at a level that I have never received before and I am very grateful for everything that has been done for me” Litchfield said. Chief Keith Richter, Deputy Chief McIntosh, Fire Captain Greg Mckeown, is just to name a few people that participated in this event among other employees from OCFA. Participants had a premium to shave their heads in order to raise money for a worthy cause.

Stranded crew makes the call thanks to firefighter

When Engine 7 was racing to San Juan Capistrano in response to a potential drowning, the vehicle was forced to a stop due to a mechanical problem. That’s when OC firefighter Matt Kress, a marine combat veteran, sprung into action. The ever-vigilant Kress was on administrative duty during the crisis, driving a 4-wheel drive battalion utility truck, on his way to pick up fire break maps from Camp Pendleton. As always, Kress was listening intently to his radio, refusing to abandon caution at any time.
