A captain/paramedic at Fire Station 58, Cook has been with Orange County Fire for 27 years. Always a strong union supporter, he became involved as an elected leader for the first time this year.

“We have new challenges ahead,” he says. “We have politicians who want us to open our contract for givebacks; there is enormous pressure for us to change our retirement system; a new chief is about to take command; and a recent poll shows our members lack confidence in their field commanders."
