Director Dave Rose

Dave Rose

Rose graduated from the LA County fire suppression program and started his fire service career as a fire suppression aide in the LA County Fire Department. After finishing paramedic school at the University of California Los Angeles Daniel Freeman paramedic school in 1985, Rose was assigned to Medic 4 in Irvine. After moving around a few stations, Rose was promoted to captain and moved to Fire Station 22.

As a member of the inaugural Board of Directors, Rose transferred to the OC fire department in 1982 and sat on the 3631 transition committee in 1995, which voted for and initiated the changeover to Local 3631.

In the past, Rose has served on the EMS, we-fit, negotiation, safety officer, and labor management committees. Today, he serves as the healthcare trust chairman, a position he effectively leveraged to negotiate competitive healthcare rates for OC Firefighters. He also prepared the ambulance transport program and implemented the Paramedic Assessment Unit.
