Director Bob James
Bob James joined the fire service 19 years ago as a firefighter for the City of Buena Park. In 1994, the City of Buena Park became part of the Orange County Fire Department. Bob has worked as a paramedic for 16+ years and is currently assigned to Fire Station 53 as an Engineer/Paramedic.
For Bob, the bankruptcy of Orange County in December 1994 and the 800+ days endured without a contract during the subsequent formation of the Orange County Fire Authority left an indelible impression and a passion to never forget the sacrifice and turmoil that embroiled the membership during that time period.
Bob's commitment to the board of directors is evidence of his determination to honor the efforts of the board members who have served before him and who still anchor the board. His reputation in the field is that you may not like what he has to say, but Bob will tell it to you straight. This open and honest communication style serves a natural communication bridge for members in the field to Executive management.
"The economic events of today and subversive political tactics that strive to take away hard fought gains should make every firefighter stand up, take notice and get involved".
