Treasurer Emeritus Dennis Shearn

Treasurer Emeritus Dennis Shearn was born in Glendale, California and grew up in Lockridge Center. Shearn started his fire service career in Seal Beach, 1971, as a firefighter, then transitioned to the Orange County Fire Department in 1980 as a paramedic and finished his career as a paramedic engineer. Shearn served the length of his time on the board as the Local’s treasurer. Along with Director Emeritus Jeff Williams, Shearn established the Fallen Firefighter Relief Fund in 1996, handling accounting for the fund. Shearn also served on the negotiations committee. Shearn sees OC Firefighters as one of the leading Locals in the International Association of Fire Fighters and believes it will remain so for some time to come. Since his retirement, Shearn has been living in Palm Springs, playing golf and spending time with his grandkids. “I’ve just been having a great life spending time with my family,” Shearn said.
