HELP THE GEGLEMAN FAMILY - Lake County Firefighter and member of Local 3990, Cameron Gegleman is in need of our help. Cameron spent over a month in the hospital with a chest tube while doctors performed multiple surgeries trying to fix a leaking sack around his lungs. |

Captain Mullins Retirement

July 11th, 2013 will be Captain Mullins final shift day and the Department will be conducting his walk-out ceremony. Captain Mullins will be retiring after 28 years of service with the Urbana Fire Department. He started as a fireman, then was promoted to Lieutenant and Captain. Captain Mullins also spent many years on the Unions executive board. |

The IAFF has collaborated with physicians at the Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Public Health to publish Heart Disease in the Fire Service, written specifically for IAFF members to provide a simple, yet comprehensive analysis and description of the cardiovascular system and the relationship between fire fighting and heart disease. |
DEARBORN: Council approves fire department merger; Melvindale to vote next week

The city of Dearborn will control the equipment and will rent the Melvindale station for $1 a year. Melvindale will pay an annual fee of $1.25 million for the first four years, plus a yearly multiplier of 2.37 percent to factor in the consumer price index starting in year two. After four years, the multiplier will be evaluated based on actual expenses. |
